Welcome to the online exhibition space for Stick No Bills™, the number one destination for vintage poster art and and retro-poster design.
We curate, exhibit and sell rare vintage travel and film posters dating from the late 1800s through to the 1980s. Using the finest paper and inks available on the island, we also design antique-style, high quality posters and postcards and create bespoke posters for a growing number of luxury brands.
Our flag-ship gallery is spread out through every main room of a beautiful old Dutch colonial townhouse situated at the centre of Church Street; the 'golden mile' intersecting Galle Fort - an incredible UNESCO World Heritage City located on Sri Lanka's tropical southwestern coast.
From inception we have specialised in authenticating and raising the profile of Ceylon and Indian posters dating from the late 1800s through until the 1980s. The preeminent Ceylon collection we are proud to exhibit, much of it on behalf of the island's most renowned poster and art collectors, is the most extensive in the world. Many of our Bollywood posters come from a Delhi-based gentleman whose family owned cinemas across India.
So we started by showcasing posters from the region in which we are based. However, thanks to the renewed buying power of the local market in recent years and the meteoric growth in the global 'alternative investment'/collector's market, we were able to unleash our passion for Western film and travel poster art in 2012. Since then we have sourced a burgeoning collection of iconic Hollywood posters and lobby cards.
As pioneers in post-war Sri Lanka's fast-growing art market, Stick No Bills™ also began to offer a first class framing service in 2013. Integrating this capability into our offering has made us a one-stop shop for leading interior designers as well as for lovers of poster art and poster design.
Please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org should you be interested in loaning or selling us posters to exhibit, or buying poster art - both framed and unframed - from us.
We are open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
