Galle Fort. A UNESCO World Heritage city. A place of vibrant culture, rich history, and breathtaking beauty. It's also the birthplace of Stick No Bills, and we're incredibly proud to announce that our latest creation, "Good Morning Sri Lanka," is the official poster for the 12th Galle Literary Festival!
This project marks a full-circle moment for us, bringing us back to where it all began in 2011. From our humble beginnings in a small gallery on Church Street, we've grown our Sri Lanka-centric collection quadrupling in size, to also establish locations in Galle Fort, Hiriketiya, Dubai, Barcelona, and Palma de Mallorca. "Good Morning Sri Lanka" is a celebration of this incredible journey and a tribute to the place that inspired it all.
This stunning design is the 53rd collaboration between The Archives Design Group and award-winning Danish artist Mads Berg. The poster artwork beautifully captures the spirit and allure of Galle Fort, perfectly reflecting the magic of the Literary Festival. The festival, renowned for its captivating blend of literary giants, gastronomic delights, and cultural experiences, draws visitors from across the globe. We were also delighted Mads Berg could be present at the festival, where he hosted a sold-out workshop sharing the artistic process behind creating the perfect poster.
"We are delighted Stick No Bills has become our official creative partner & fine art print supplier,” comments Festival Director Giselle Harding. “This collaboration is a unique opportunity to bring a breath of fresh air to the Galle Literary Festival brand as well as supporting exceptional artistry through a local business.”
Adds Meg Gage Williams, Founder & CEO of Stick No Bills: “In its cheerful glamorisation of the power and pleasure of the written word, the heroine in the foreground of ‘Good Morning Sri Lanka’ helps us dream of a storm-free future where we can all read more books.”
This poster isn't just a beautiful piece of art; it's a piece of Galle Fort's story. It embodies the romance, the inspiration, and the vibrant spirit that makes this city so special. And by purchasing "Good Morning Sri Lanka," you're not only adding a stunning piece to your collection, but you're also contributing to the preservation of this incredible heritage. A net percentage of profits from the sale of this poster, like all items in our Sri Lanka Collection, goes directly to support the Galle Heritage Foundation and the Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Society.
