Collection: Joseph Binder

The Joseph Binder Collection is officially licensed from the MAK - Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, and the estate of Carla and Joseph Binder. Austrian-born Binder (1898-1972) revolutionised poster design through his distinctive approach of geometric abstraction and striking colour, bridging his Viennese training with the ambitions of mid-century America. From creating iconic images for the 1939 New York World's Fair to designing for clients including the Red Cross, United Airlines, and the U.S. Navy, Binder's work defined the visual language of the Art Deco era.
